NFC North seeing major changes

Is there a better division in football than the NFC North? The battles these teams have twice a year is awesome. The amount of Bear and Packers fans that have invaded the dome for years is incredible. There have been some Packer- Vikings games at the dome that I find myself feeling like am I in Lambeau or the dome. It is so incredibly loud with Packer fans. The chants between the team’s fans are so fun to listen to and be a part of.

The upcoming 2014 season will definitely be different especially the way Free Agency has started in our wonderful division.

I was excited to see that the Bears’ Julius Peppers was finally a free agent and we may finally see him leave and not face him twice a year. Oh he left alright, but for the worse as he now wears the ugly green and yellow.



Thursday the division got another break as the division’s biggest nightmare, Devin Hester signed a 3 year contract with the Atlanta Falcons. It is amazing to watch Hester with the ball as all fans know when he gets the ball you hold your breath in hopes. I do think the Vikes did a better job last season. I believe the man will be in the football Hall of Fame one year but at least for now we will not have to face him twice a year. The 2014 schedule does see Atlanta come to Minnesota’s outside stadium.

The Packers I believe lost a big piece of the passing game when James Jones left for the Oakland Raiders. A healthy Aaron Rodgers already has some pretty good weapons so to see one leave I am alight with that. I know last week Viking player Letroy Guion left by way of free agency and signed with the enemy. The Pack resigned B.J. Raji which I was disappointed with but now it could be a Raji- Guion in the middle of the Packers defense

The Lions would be better one day if they could knock off the unnecessary penalties. The talent is there and as long as Calvin Johnson is healthy the passing game creates havoc for defensive backs. Detroit signed former Seahawk Golden Tate to compliment  Megatron. This is a man who helped steal a game from the Packers on one of the most controversial hail Mary passes to give the Seahawks an improbable win. The man now gets to help beat the Pack twice a year.

The NFC North is going through major changes and with the job the Vikes have done thus far in Free Agency I am feeling good that our loved purple will compete within this tough division.
