We all have
our favorite team and favorite players we love to watch each weekend. The fantasy
football game is bigger than ever. The 2014 season has seen shocking changes
which will affect what we are used to watching.
I look at
the daily transactions and can’t stop shaking my head with the signings. I look
at some and wonder is it just the money because the team that player signed
with typically is not a playoff team.
Minnesota
Vikings fans already know who has come and gone but looking at the 31 other
teams in the league and wonder will the teams that are down be more competitive
in this upcoming campaign.
One of my
biggest shock was seeing former Bronco, Eric Decker sign with the New York
Jets. Was this for money or will the Jets are able to compete with the
Patriots.
The Jets
then sign Michael Vick to compete with Geno Smith for the starting job? Mark
Sanchez leaves the Jets and goes to the Philadelphia Eagles.
In staying
with the AFC East we see Darrell Revis getting released by Tampa Bay and quickly
signs with New England to bolster their secondary.
The Denver
Broncos make it to the Super Bowl only to fall to Seattle. What do the Broncos
do? Yes, they make 3 huge defensive signings with D’Marcus Ware (Cowboys), Aqib
Talib (Patriots) and T.J.Ward (Browns) all coming to the Rocky Mountain state.
The rich get richer. Is this enough to get Peyton Manning and the Broncos the
Super Bowl title?
The Oakland
Raiders are trying to be able to compete in a tough AFC West division. They
trade to bring in Matt Schaub to quarterback. Oakland brings in James Jones
(Packers) to be a target for Schaub. They also sign Lamar Woodley (Steelers)
and Justin Tuck (Giants) to help boost the defense. This week the Raiders sign
Maurice-Jones Drew (Jaguars) to add to their running game to join Darren
McFadden.
The
Indianapolis Colts who are a good and upcoming team signed Hakeem Nicks
(Giants) for another target for Andrew Luck. I really thought the year that
Manning left the Colts would struggle but I was wrong and am alright with that.
The
Baltimore Ravens picked up one of the top available receivers when I feel a shocking
development happened. Steve Smith (Panthers) was released only to be picked up
by Baltimore. It will be interesting to see how Smith does in Baltimore.
The departure
of Julius Peppers (Bears) signs with the Green Bay Packers was one of my biggest
shocks thus far.
The news
that Eagles standout receiver, DeSean Jackson was released and now must wait
for a team just keeps the surprising headlines coming.
Dallas
Cowboys lose Ware to the Broncos and then lose defensive tackle, Jason Hatcher
to the Redskins. The Cowboys then bring in former quarterback Brandon Weeden
(Browns) to be Romo’s backup. Can Dallas be more than an 8-8 team? The offense
is strong but the defense struggled mightily and now adds in 2 key losses on
the D-Line.
The next
news being reported is Chris Johnson (Titans) is due to be released next week.
Is anyone safe in this league?
The NFL does
not have allegiance anymore as we see big impact players leaving a team and
going to a team in the same division. This makes for such fun watching games to
see what kind of games these players have against their former team.
The NFL some
say stands for NOT FOR LONG is getting more and more accurate each season. The
NFL is and always be the best sport in the world.
Thanks for
