Facts and fun info in helping get ready for the Seattle (Vikings) Seahawks

The Minnesota Vikings (2-7) coming off a much needed win now get to go to the loudest stadium in the NFL and face the Seattle Seahawks (9-1).

These 2 teams seem to take each other players lately so much that Seattle Seahawks could also be known as the Vikings part 2. They have Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, Heath Farwell currently along with former Vikes offensive coordinator, Darrell Bevell who now is Seattle’s guy to run the offense. Seattle in recent had Tarvaris Jackson and then earlier this year had Antoine Winfield before he was released.

These 2 teams have so many connections that it is more than just another Sunday game. Seattle’s record of 9-1 is not only good for first in the NFC West by two games over the 49ers they also have the best record in the NFC.

I looked up Las Vegas odds and figured Seattle would be favored but to my surprise was the amount as Seattle is favored by 13. This game has the biggest point spread of all games this weekend. My hope is the win last week will get the boys back on their game and give Seattle a game. I just don’t believe Minnesota will lose by 13.

Game time- 3:25 on Fox

Play by play callers- Chris Myers and Tim Ryan with Jennifer Hale on the sidelines

ALL TIME SERIES

Seattle leads all time series with a 7-5 mark. Minnesota is 3-2 at home vs Seattle and in Seattle 2-5. Minnesota lost last season in Seattle 30-20.

Minnesota has not won in Seattle since 10/22/06.

VIKINGS PLAYER INFO

Did you know that when Minnesota went to Seattle last year that Adrian had a first? He ran 74 yards which is the longest run in AP’s career without it being a touchdown run.

Did you know that Cordarrelle Patterson and Marcus Sherels lead the league in return yard average in their respective areas? Patterson leads the league with a 35.2 in kickoff returns. Marcus leads the league with a 16.3 punt return average.

Andrew Sendejo’s 16 tackles last week vs Washington tied him for most amongst other league secondary members.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS COACH PETE CARROLL INFO

Pete was the defensive line coach for Coaches Bud Grant and Jerry Burns from 1989-1989.

THOUGHTS IN THE END

This game will be as physical as we may see all year. The Seahawks are extremely strong at home and I believe they try to intimidate the Vikings with their style

As if there is not enough pressure on the Vikings they will get to face old teammate, Percy Harvin who was activated for this game. It should be quite the show between Vike’s Cordarrelle Patterson and Harvin.

I am disappointed that Sidney Rice is out for the year. I would love to see how he would have fared against the Vikings banged up secondary.

I guess my thought is if Seattle does go to the playoffs and they go to the Super Bowl I will pull for one guy and that is Heath Farwell. I loved his game when he was in Minnesota. He might just go down as one of the nicest guys to meet in Mankato.

Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson will give the defense a headache. This Vikings team has got to play smart and disciplined or Wilson can and will run wildly. He is short in height so may be a little bit easier to keep their arms up and knock balls down.

We will get to see a game of two of the best running backs in the game. I believe Peterson and Marshawn Lynch are the two most physical running backs in the league. I know last week’s game vs Washington in the first half the tackling was atrocious. If this happens Lynch could be in for a monster game.

I believe one advantage for the Vikings will be this long time off between games. Players should be more rested. The 11 days off should be plenty of time for coaches to come up with a game plan that will lead to a monstrous upset.
